Ingredients

APPLE PIE BROWN BUTTER COOKIES

Apple Topping:

  • ½ tbsp butter
  • ½ green apple, cubed
  • ⅛ tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch salt

Crumble:

  • 1 tbsp almond flour
  • 1 tsp zero calorie sweetener
  • ½ tbsp butter, melted

Frosting:

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.
  2. Stir together the crumble ingredients until lumps form.
  3. Spread them out on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 5 minutes. Let cool.
  4. Make the apple in a small saucepan, add the butter over medium heat.
  5. Once melted, add the apple pieces, cinnamon and salt and toss to coat.
  6. Cook for 5-6 minutes and the apples are tender. Remove from heat.
  7. In a medium mixing bowl, use a handheld mixer to beat the cream cheese and butter together until well blended.
  8. Add in the remaining frosting ingredients and mix until combined.
  9. Transfer to a piping bag and top cookies with frosting followed by crumble and apple pieces.
  10. Cut cookies into 4 pieces and serve.
